Following the success of the sold out ‘Bad Blood Tour’ earlier this year and in response to overwhelming demand for their autumn tour which sold out in a day, Bastille have announced a 2014 UK tour. Kicking off in February of next year, this tour will see the band play 5 dates in the UK and finish with a spectacular show at London’s Alexandra Palace. This new tour comes fresh of the back of a run of huge UK festival appearances and their no.1 album ‘Bad Blood’, the biggest selling debut album of the year.
It seems there is no stopping London-based Bastille whose ever increasing fan base are clearly connecting with the band’s haunting melodies, strong narratives and rhythmic backbone.
The band have had a packed summer in 2013 seeing them on some of the biggest stages on the festival circuit including performances at Radio 1 Big Weekend, T in the Park, Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, and Headlining stages at Wakestock, Blissfields and Standon Calling.
Their last tour in March of this year Bastille took 16 UK cities by force, with the final two nights at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire selling out. The tour itself sold out months in advance, long before the release of their debut album and saw fans ecstatically singing along to every word at every show. The band’s come a long way considering that they played their first gig just two years ago. Before this, frontman Dan Smith was quietly making music in his bedroom to satisfy his own interests.
‘Bad Blood’ is the band’s platinum selling debut album and the biggest selling debut album of year, which was released on EMI and soared to no.1 in the UK charts a week after their fourth single ‘Pompeii’ reached no.2 in the singles chart.
